The Secret to Love that Lasts
*It is so common to hear that the romance is over and if I could only feel the magic again. Gary Chapman in his stellar book the Five Love Languages shares a powerful formula for keeping passion and excitement with our important other
This formula allows us to meet each other's deep emotional need to feel loved. When we learn our partner's love language then we ta...ke responsibility for igniting the bonds that attract us.
the Five Love Languages (each of us has our own formula)
1. Words of Affirmation - (those whose language is WOA do best with regular doses of encouraging words that affirm them personally.)...this is how they know they are loved
2. Quality Time- (those who are QT focused require regular set aside time to do something they love with you), i.e. walks,
gardening together, watching a movie together, etc...this is how they know they are cherished
3 Gifts-( those whose language is Gifts like small remembrances as signs of love,) i.e. a flower, a particular dinner that the other loves, a cap from their favorite team, etc
4. Acts of Service- (AOS people recieve their sense of being loved from particular important activities,) i.e. babysitting the kids, washing the car, building a bookshelf, etc
5. Physical Touch (PT folks know that they are loved when they are touched,) a special hug, holding their hand as you walk down the street, a massage
Affirmation: I recognize my loved ones love language and demonstrate our connection in a language they cherish and value
