This quote by #LouiseLHay never goes out of style.

What if the very thing you criticize yourself about is the very thing that needs your tenderness in order for change to occur?

Trust me. If beating ourselves up worked, we'd all be thin, rich and happy, wouldn't we? :)

“According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don't bother you anymore. You become light-hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous."

Life always provides you with the necessary experiences to grow, appreciate, and move forward. You will keep receiving experiences that test you until you are ready to move on.

We simply share and feel pulled to share our truth. We are finding that more and more people across the world are resonating with it But we never impose our truth on another!

Let og of thoughts that don't feel good.

There is a life-force within your soul,
seek that life.
There is a gem in the mountain of your body
Seek that mine.
O traveler, if you are in search of that
... Don't look outside ...
Look inside yourself and seek that.

Rumi

The opening lines to "The Invitation." I wrote this late one night after being at a party & feeling dissatisfied with the usual social exchange. (Complete piece posted under "About" on this page.) It came from my gut & my heart, the voice of my soul following the thread of my longing for intimacy with myself, other & the world. Much to my surprise, the piece went into the world, the world responded, & the poem unfolded into a book. You just never know what will happen when you let your heart & soul speak. Wishing you a weekend filled with heart, rooted in the beauty of being an embodied soul, guided by the wisdom of the ache that reminds us what matters most. ~Oriah

Are you tired of working? This is where I feel we can shift our perception to make best of the situation we are living in right now. I would be the first to say that our system is in dire need of a big overhaul...but it's all about how you perceive it.

When we walk like (we are rushing), we print anxiety and sorrow on the earth. We have to walk in a way that we only print peace and serenity on the earth... Be aware of the contact between your feet and the earth. Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Some how in some way...we are all connected. We are all different parts of a whole, we are all one.

The Top 5 Regrets of The Dying

hand A palliative nurse recorded the most common regrets of the dying and put her findings into a book called ‘The Top Five Regrets of The Dying.’........more: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/04/27/the-top-5-regrets-of-the-dying/

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

“This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.”

2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.

“This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret, but as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.”

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.

“Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.”

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

“Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.”

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

”This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content, when deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.”

You can accept or reject the way you are treated by other people, but until you heal the wounds of your past, you will continue to bleed. You can bandage the bleeding with food, with alcohol, with drugs, with work, with cigarettes, with sex, but eventually, it will all ooze through and stain your life. You must find the strength to open the wounds, stick your hands inside, pull out the core of the pain that is holding you in your past, the memories, and make peace with them”
Iyanla Vanzant, Yesterday, I Cried

The only way to get what you really want is to let go of what you don't want.”

Lend yourself to others, but give yourself to yourself.

There can be no transforming of darkness into light and of apathy into movement without emotions.Carl G. Jung

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh

Love is the capacity to take care, to protect, to nourish. If you are not capable of generating that kind of energy toward yourself- if you are not capable of taking care of yourself, of nourishing yourself, of protecting yourself- it is very difficult to take care of another person. In the Buddhist teaching, it's clear that to love oneself is the foundation of the love of other people. Love is a practice. Love is truly a practice.
~Thich Nhat Hanh

The discipline that we would like you to exercise is to make a decision that nothing is more important than that you feel good, and that you are going to find thoughts that feel better. Your cork floating is the only thing that is worthy of discipline.
                            --- Abraham

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”
...
It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!
